Sound healing for retreats

Facilitated journeys into stillness using the handpan's resonant, grounding frequencies. Deep relaxation and meditation experiences.

Sound healing with handpan

The handpan’s acoustic properties make it uniquely suited to sound healing work. Its sustained, resonant tones create immersive sonic environments that facilitate deep relaxation and meditative states.

Joe has worked in wellbeing and retreat contexts for several years, using the handpan to support calm, reflection, and connection. His approach prioritises creating safe, supportive spaces for a grounded, restorative experience.

What a session involves

Settle + breathe

Participants get comfortable (mats, cushions, or beds). Joe guides initial breathing and settling before the journey begins.

Sound journey

Handpan tones create an immersive sonic environment, with occasional gentle guidance. Joe reads the group and adapts in real time.

Integration

The session closes with reorientation and space for integration (sharing or journaling depending on your retreat format).

Joe’s approach

Joe’s facilitation style is grounded and non-prescriptive. He creates space for participants to have their own experience rather than directing specific outcomes. His background in rhythm, improvisation, and intuitive music-making informs a practice that’s responsive and present.

He’s comfortable holding space for whatever emerges - tears, laughter, profound stillness, or simply deep rest.
